Q & A:
Q: When was your first time to know about the tattoo?
The first time I know tattoo in high school. I guess when I was a teenager and I started working in cafés and everyone that I worked with have tattoos. I guess that was the first time that I started to award them.
Q: How did you like it when you heard about it?
At first, I didn’t really understand it, I didn’t really like them. When anyone wants to get them, I thought surely you will get it and regret it and want to remove it. So, I didn’t really understand it before I get it first.
Q: Did you change your attitude about the tattoo?
Yes, defiantly. I think a lot of people say that they want to get their first tattoo. What’s more, I can totally understand it because when you get the first one and you don’t want to regret it. Like you don’t feel like it’s about the decision.
Q: How do you decide to have a tattoo?
I can’t always want it, but I didn’t know what I exactly want to get. And then, when I heard the story about my first tattoo, it makes me suddenly realize that was I want. And suddenly I was really sure that that was I wanted.
Q: Have you received any pressure from your family, your school or your workplace? (like hide your tattoo)
At work, I may be asked to cover my tattoo, but in most cases, it will not have any effect. Because people think this is common.
Q: Have you ever regretted to get the tattoo?
I do not regret it. But I now want to use a new tattoo to cover this one (on my left arm) it’s not because I don't like this text, but I like the more colourful tattoo now, like this one (on my right arm).
Q: Could you give some suggestions to someone who wants to have tattoos?
I would suggest probably getting images rather than text. Before I tattooed my first tattoo, my mother said I would get bored because many people would ask me the meaning of this tattoo. What she said was correct, because I still remember many people asking me what these words mean. I have to explain it to them.
Q: Could you use one sentence to describe what tattoo mean to you?
I think it’s a way of expressing who you were at a certain time. Even if you don’t you want to continue to be the same person.
